Summer Program
Our summer virtual online sessions begin July 9, 2012!
We offer various programs over  the summer, such as SAT I,II/ACT/ PSAT/AP exams/ SSAT & ISEE.Highly experienced teachers with outstanding academic backgrounds will assist your child through grasping concepts and materials. Students will be periodically given practice exams online for improvement analysis, so we can assign you child in the most suitable virtual class level.

Elementary School Students 


English

We make sure that students will understand the basics in order to build upon their English. They will know basic sounds and phonics and how to put them together to form words. They will be exposed to new words and phrases so that it will be easier for them to pronounce words that they have not seen spelled before. By the time that they finished with this program, they will be able to read clearly, fluently and be ready to tackle words that are beyond their level.

They will begin to comprehend what they are reading so that they can choose enjoyable texts to increase their reading capabilities. The teachers will also be teaching students how to write and spell words, and introduce new vocabulary words so that students can build up their vocabulary. Students will begin to understand what punctuation goes with what type of sentence.

Since Apt Learner is an online program , the children will be able to use the computer and start learning their way around the keyboard so that they may do well in technology- driven world. They can also interact with the internet and develop better computer skills.

Reading texts and words is one thing; however, comprehending what was read is another thing. We emphasize that students understand what they are reading because it is meaningless if they do no comprehend what they are reading. They will also write so that they can stimulate their creativity and be open to new ideas.

Students will read a wider variety of texts so that they can test their ability to understand different topics. Students will begin to learn about grammar and sentence structure. They will know transition words, tenses (past,present,future) , part of speech, which will enable them to write complete sentences. We will teach them new vocabulary and begin to introduce synonyms and antonyms pairs to them so that they can learn words in pairs and make learning vocabulary more effective. With grammar, sentence structure, and vocabulary, they will be better writers and know how to write complex sentences.

They will know how to combine two short sentences into one and vice versa. This program will also prepare the students to do well on the ELA's and other standardize tests.

 Math

The basic math operations introduced during these elementary years are integral building blocks for a young mind. In addition to the essential processes of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, concepts of measurement, fractions, decimals, graphing, basic geometry, time, money, area, perimeter, volume, ratio, proportion, percentage, and problem solving are also studied. Ensure the success of your child’s schooling and subsequent years with individualized guidance for his/her unique needs.
