English
Students will begin to learn how to write stories , essays, and research papers. They will be introduced to using modern technology such as the Internet to research for papers that they may encounter in school. We will explain their vocabulary by teaching words and letting them read texts, We will begin to teach them how to use context clues to discover the meaning of the words that are strange to them. This is a useful skill because they are many words in the English language and people often encounter words that they have no seen before.
Math
The middle school years build upon basic concepts previously introduced to develop students’ problem solving skills. Though students range widely in courses of study, with lessons planned accordingly, possible subjects of study may be Pre-Algebra, covering integers, order of operations (PEMDAS), variables, algebraic expressions and equations, fractions, factoring, and probability. Students may also continue a study of geometry concerning the properties and processes of circles, lines, and triangles. Through interactive methods of learning, students are supplemented with the integrated assistance that becomes especially relevant and important during this time of exceptional educational growth.
We will prepare them for ELA and MLA and strengthen their math, writing, reading comprehension, and critical reading skills.
